Maxie is a beagle.  The beagle is a hound.  This is a type of dog. Canine is another name for a dog.  When Maxie sees a squirrel, she likes to chase it.  She will also chase a rabbit, a crow or a chipmunk when they come into her yard. If Maxie sees a fox, though, she will growl and run away. When the mail is delivered, Maxie likes to howl and bark.  Maxie likes treats.  Her favorite treat is mango.
